Barolo Bussia Giacomo Fenocchio (Nebbiolo) 2016
The wine undergoes a 40-day maceration and rests for 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels from 35 to 50 hectoliters. The warm garnet color is already a clear sign of Fenocchio’s respectful style; when dealing with a Barolo, once poured into the glass, haste must be set aside, it makes no sense to look at the clock, the more the wine is great, the more it will open as the minutes go by. However, it is not difficult to perceive in the first moments a clear scent of rose and licorice, followed by ripe cherries, sweet spices emerge and the general sensation is of a beautiful maturity, it also captures a curious nuance of lavender, then menthol, moist earth and undergrowth. On the palate it shows all the character of him, well present tannin but with a very fine grain that is immediately integrated into the fruity and spicy texture, then enriched with peppery reflections; this Barolo Bussia impresses with its excellent freshness and considerable depth despite its young age.
Very bold dry Barolo with nice cherry raspberry and red fruit flavors. Nice earthy tones.
